I will investigate the availability of Fe in the atmospheric particulate matter and its effect on the earth nutrient cycle and radiative forcing.
What inspires you?
Since I was a child my family involved me in nature-based activities and later a decided to start my studying in the Earth and Environmental science field.
I graduated in 2011 with a first BSc Degree in Earth Sciences and in 2015 with a first Master Degree in Environmental Monitoring and Recovery at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Subsequently, I spent few months working on a project at the Scanning Electron Microscope lab of the ALS Scandinavia in Stockholm. Last year I started the MSc in Air Pollution Management and Control at the University of Birmingham and I will graduate in December.
Why did you choose Docotoral Research?
I wanted to continue my academic studies here at the University of Birmingham, and I would like to pursue a research career in science.
Why did you choose a CENTA Studentship?
I found an interesting project on the University of Birmingham website funded by the NERC CENTA and I applied for it.
What are your future plans
I have already experienced studying here at the University of Birmingham. I found this provides a perfect environment for research excellence, from the teaching and research staff to the laboratories. I think this will be essential for my future plans. After my graduation I would like to continue the academic research in the environmental science field or/and start collaborating with companies dealing with environmental analysis.
